A storyboard serves as a rough draft for your trailer. You will be able to revise while using your chosen editing tool.

Basically you're matching each line from your script, with what the viewer will see and hear in order to create each scene of your trailer.

Do you want to use images, video or a combination of both?

Remember: Your visuals and music need to represent the words you've written in your script and the story as a whole. They do not need to match your words perfectly. What is the central theme of the story? How can I represent the theme? Are there key symbols, setting elements portrayed in story? What will help to create the mood you want viewers to feel? How can color support the mood you are trying to create? Think out of the box! Be open to change your original thoughts when new ideas or awesome images emerge.

Start by aiming for 9-12 boards/scenes. Typically 1 sentence from your script = 2 boards/scenes.

Collaborative Slide Creation Tools

Create and share a New Google Slides Dioc or Office 365 Powerpoint Presentation with your group. (Do NOT make fancy!!!) These slides will not be used for presentation purposes. They will be used as your storyboard or first draft for your book trailer. Start by writing one short sentence or half a sentence per slide.

*Create a slide to leave as your last slide and title it Citations.

  3. To add a sticky note, Click on wall.
  4. Each sticky note is one scene.
  5. Copy & Paste sentence from script
  6. If you ADD image by entering its (link symbol) URL, I would recommend copying the page URL onto sticky also so you can go back for citation information. Better yet copy it on Citations slide you've created.
